This is a complimentary visit to determine if you are a candidate for refractive surgery. We will “read” your eyeglass
prescription and present you with educational materials. You will have the opportunity to talk with Dr. Borup or Dr. Fethke and to ask questions about the procedure.
PRESURGICAL EVALUATION(Preop)…………………………….INCLUDED IN SURGERY FEE
A comprehensive dilated eye exam with refraction is performed 1) to confirm that your eyes are otherwise healthy, and 2) to determine your degree of near- or farsightedness. Keep in mind that the dilating drops will last approximately 24-48 hours. Several specialized tests are also performed to analyze the surface of the eye (the cornea). The measurements from this exam are important and will allow the doctor to correct your eyes appropriately. Please be aware that you must be free of your contact lenses for your preop visit. Please discontinue the wearing of your lenses. Do not wear your lenses again unless instructed by your surgeon.
Intermountain Eye Center offers quality care at an affordable, competitive rate. We provide discounts for most insurance and vision plans as well as “family discounts”. The fee is comprehensive and covers all aspects of the surgery and all follow-up visits for one year including the need for an enhancement. If an enhancement is needed beyond that time period, the patient is charged only for the cost of the laser (generally between $200 to $400) depending on the elapsed time from the original procedure.
Intermountain Eye Centers is an exclusive provider for Blue Cross’ LASIK add on benefit. We are also providers for most insurance plans. Please check with your health care provider to ensure you receive the best price option.
